Biography

Heejung was born and raised in South Korea, where her journey in movement began with

Hapkido and later evolved through hip-hop dance. Her exploration of partner dances led her

to Lindy Hop, deepening her understanding of connection, rhythm, and improvisation.

A trip to New York introduced her to West Coast Swing, and she quickly fell in love with the

style. In 2009, she founded Westie Korea, helping grow the WCS community in her country.

Today, Heejung travels internationally, teaching dancers of all levels. Known for her

hip-hop-inspired styling, playful musicality, and fearless creativity, her workshops are fun,

engaging, and confidence-building—always encouraging students to step gently beyond their comfort zones.
